Victorian Young Labor (VYL)

About VYL

Victorian Young Labor (VYL) is the official youth wing of Victorian Labor for members aged 14-26.

Whatever your passion may be – social justice, the labour movement, democracy or the fair go – Victorian Young Labor is for you.

At every election, we hit the streets campaigning to help elect Labor governments at state and federal level.

Victorian Young Labor provides many opportunities for young people to learn new skills and share new experiences.

VYL is committed to social justice, with its members regularly volunteering their time to contribute to the community.

Victorian Young Labor holds many events for young people, from politics in the pub nights to social events.

Victorian Young Labor hosts an annual conference where members debate public policy and elect Young Labor’s leaders. Here delegates are elected to represent Victoria at the national Young Labor conference in Canberra.

Victorian Young Labor is also active at universities and TAFEs.

Join Victorian Young Labor

All Victorian Labor members who were under the age of 26 on 1 January are automatically members of VYL for that year.
